In a report from Reuters regarding the continuing Israel-Hamas conflict, it was reported that the White House's current envoy is participating in active discussions that seek a pause to the conflict to prioritize the release of hostages.
Israel has also reiterated that its military goals for Hamas have not changed and that it's also working towards the release of hundreds of hostages.
Following the loss of many soldiers, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated "In the name of our heroes, for the sake of our lives, we will not stop fighting until absolute victory." The Israeli Government spokesperson, Eylon Levy, re-emphasized this by discussing how there would be no cease-fire where Hamas would still hold power. The military has also reported that 100 militants have been killed in an operation that took place in Khan Younis, recently covered by HNGN, and surrounding one of Gaza's main cities which is shielding many Palestinians who have been displaced as a result of this conflict. At the time of writing the Israeli military has stated that it has killed over 9,000 militants thus far although Reuters was unable to confirm this number.
Regarding Palestinian casualties, health officials have stated that at least 195 Palestinians have been killed in the last 24 hours thus raising the death toll of those killed by air strikes and shelling to 25,490. The Israelis have also blockaded various hospitals which makes it difficult for Palestinians to gather those who have been wounded or those who have passed on as a result of the conflict. Outside Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis which is the largest in the Gaza Strip is still functioning, however, it has seen bodies being buried on hospital grounds due to cemeteries being unsafe. Israel has often gone on record saying that Hamas has been operating both in and around hospitals however both hospital staff and Hamas have denied this allegation.
