A controversial figure who gained fame through managing her far-right X account called "Libs of TikTok" secured a position on the Library Media Advisory Committee within the Oklahoma Department of Education.
Chaya Raichik, a non-Oklahoma resident and a former real estate agent, was appointed as an advisor to the committee, as announced by Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters on Tuesday.
Walters values Raichik's work for highlighting what he sees as the radical left's agenda in education and believes her insights are crucial for enhancing school safety and creating a more parent-friendly environment in the state.
"Chaya is on the front lines showing the world exactly what the radical left is all about - lowering standards, porn in schools, and pushing woke indoctrination on our kids," said Walters in a statement posted on X. "Because of her work, families across the country know just what is going on in schools around the country."
Raichik authored a book encouraging children to be open with their parents titled "No More Secrets: The Candy Cavern."
The woman behind "Libs of TikTok" has gained notoriety for espousing anti-LGBTQ views. In November of last year, Raichik launched an online attack against Media Matters reporter Ari Drennan, who is a transgender woman. As documented by The Pride LA, Raichik falsely accused Drennan, engaged in deadnaming, and made derogatory comments regarding her mental health and gender identity.
Additionally, Raichik has a history of singling out drag queens and their employers, criticizing them for their support of diversity, inclusion, and equity initiatives, as reported by NBC News. Even healthcare professionals offering gender-affirming care to children are falsely accused of administering surgical procedures without caution.
According to The Daily Beast, medical facilities in Washington, DC, Boston, Seattle, Chicago, and Portland, Oregon, received menacing threats following Raichik's assertions that healthcare professionals in these locations were engaging in the harmful practice of mutilating children
Educators and adults teaching children about LGBT identities also often face accusations from Raichik, being labeled as "groomers."
'Libs of TikTok' Allegedly Linked to Inciting Bomb Threats at Schools
In addition to her widely criticized anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, the content creator has faced allegations of inspiring school bomb threats in the past. These accusations have further intensified the controversy surrounding her actions and raised concerns about the potential consequences of her influence on social media.
In October of the previous year, VICE published an investigative report delving into the content creator's association with bomb threats. The report highlighted that following allegations of anti-LGBTQ grooming conspiracies by the "Libs of TikTok" account, at least eleven schools or school districts allegedly received bomb threats within a few days.
Among the 42 entities reached out to by the outlet, 14 provided responses, with three of them refuting any bomb threats. Conversely, the remaining 11 entities acknowledged experiencing bomb threats shortly after being featured in posts by "Libs of TikTok."
When VICE contacted Raichik, the latter dismissed the accusations and refrained from accepting any responsibility for the threats. She hinted that the threats were not associated with either her or her followers.
As of writing, "Libs of Tiktok" has 2.8 million followers on X. The official and personal account of Raichik, meanwhile, has nearly 470 thousand followers.
