Senate GOP is now urging Donald Trump to save the Ukraine border deal and allow them to review the legislation first. They made this plea as the former American leader continues to lead the Republican presidential nomination.
Recently, Trump showed his dominance after winning the Iowa caucus. After that, he also won the New Hampshire presidential primary. Because of this, many political analysts said that a rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump will likely happen.
However, Senate Republicans are now worried that Donald Trump will become their main problem if he wins the GOP presidential nomination since he is against the Ukraine border deal.
Donald Trump Urged by Senate GOP To Save Ukraine Border Deal
According to The Hill's latest report, Senate Republicans are urging Donald Trump's Senate allies to intercede with the GOP presidential front-runner.
They said that they should encourage the former U.S. president to save the "carefully negotiated package" for Ukrainian military aid and border security reforms.
Senate Republican Policy Committee Chair Joni Ernst said that her Republican colleagues, especially those who endorsed Trump, should intervene with him.
She stated that they must prevent the former POTUS from criticizing the emerging Ukraine border deal so that lawmakers can still review its details.
Ernst is just one of the Republicans who are concerned that Donald Trump could kill the Ukraine border legislation before the deal's text is even released.
"Those of you who have endorsed Trump, please ask Trump 'Don't cut off its head before we've even seen it," said Ernst according to a Republican senator who recently attended a Senate GOP meeting.

About Ukraine Border Deal
NBC News reported that Donald Trump has pushed the congressional GOP to eliminate the Ukraine border deal. Political experts said that this is a part of the general election campaign of the ex-POTUS against U.S. President Joe Biden.
But, the Ukraine border deal is expected to greatly improve border security in the U.S., as well as secure military aid to Ukraine.
Specifically, the Ukraine border deal could secure nearly $60 billion in aid to the European country, which is facing a full-blown invasion from Russia.
This is why Senate Republicans are urging Donald Trump to avoid attacking the deal before it is even reviewed.
