Mystery Intensifies Over 3 Kansas City Chief's Fans Found Dead in Frozen Backyard

The authorities issued an autopsy and toxicology test for the investigation.

Three men were found dead on January 9 in frozen conditions outside a friend's house in Kansas City, where they had gathered to watch a Kansas City Chiefs game two days earlier and never returned home.

Several questions remain unanswered since their disappearance. The victim's families want answers about how they died.

3 Men Found Dead in Kansas City

The three men were identified as Ricky Johnson, Clayton McGeeney, and David Harrington, who have been missing since January 7. Sky News reported the three men had been friends since high school.

They were discovered when McGeeney's fiancee went to Jordan Willis's home looking for him and found a body on the back porch. The Kansas City Police Department arrived and found two more bodies in the backyard.

John Picerno, attorney of Willis, said in a statement that his client was unaware of how his friends died and was anxiously awaiting the results of the autopsy and toxicology report to determine the causes and manners of death for Harrington, McGeeney, and Johnson.

The KCPD reported that there were no apparent signs of foul play observed at the crime scene. The case was not ruled a homicide investigation.

Picerno shared that after the Chiefs game with a low temperature of 29F (-1.6C), Willis went to bed while his companions and a fourth visitor lingered in his home, wishing them a good night.

The fourth guest, whose identity has not been made public, claimed that when he left Willis's house, McGeeney, Harrington, and Johnson were still conscious. Contrary to Willis's suggestion, the fourth guest argued to the local news station WDAF-TV that he was not the last to see the three men alive.

Picerno claimed that the two missing cars were parked on Willis's block, but he failed to notice them. Willis said it was unusual for his friends to leave their vehicles behind overnight.

Families of Three Men Speak Out

The family members of the dead men said in a media interview that they do not believe they have heard the whole truth from Willis, who expressed sympathy to them in Picerno's statement.

"None of the stories are adding up about what he's saying," Adriana Juarez, the mother of Johnson's son, said to KCTV. "How do you not know there are three bodies on the back porch?"

McGeeney's cousin, Caleb McGeeney, told WDAF-TV that the thought of them dying and sitting outside in the cold for two days was extremely devastating. He also described his cousin as a "good person."

He added that somebody has to end up in custody over their death, regardless of any situation.

Jennifer Marquez, Harrington's mother, shared that the call informing her of her son's death was the most devastating moment of her life.

She said it was a huge loss as he was his brother and had more siblings. She claimed that they were missing him and broken-hearted over the fact that they would not be able to see their brother again.
