FBI Letter Warns US Gov. About Consequences of Not Closing US-Mexico Border; Elon Musk Says It's Concerning

The billionaire said that it is concerning.

On Saturday, Jan. 27, Elon Musk shared an FBI letter warning the U.S. government about the consequences of not closing or resolving the issue at the U.S.-Mexico border.

As of writing, numerous U.S. states, such as Texas and New York, are already taking matters into their own hands to prevent the influx of asylum seekers.

The U.S.-Mexico border dispute creates debates among American officials and civilians whether closing it is the right thing to do or whether immigrants should be given the chance to enter the United States.

But, some FBI officials warned the U.S. government regarding the consequences of allowing huge numbers of immigrants into the country.

Aside from Elon Musk, Bill Ackman, an American billionaire hedge fund manager and the CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, also shared the FBI letter.

It was originally posted by X user Big Fish, who clarified that the letter was signed by former FBI officials who used to give "a sh*t" about the U.S.-Mexico border.

The FBI letter was signed by Chris Swecker, the former assistant director of the FBI for the Criminal Investigative Division, and Kevin R. Brock, the ex-assistant director of the FBI for the Directorate of Intelligence, and other ex-FBI leaders.

The letter they wrote was addressed to the following U.S. officials:

  • Speaker of the House Mike Johnson
  • Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer
  • House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chair Mike Turner
  • Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Chair Mark Warner
  • Committee on Homeland Security Chair Mark Green
  • Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Chair Gary Peters

In the letter they sent to the U.S. government on Jan. 17, the former FBI officials said that there was a "new and imminent danger." Based on their letter, they are referring to the U.S.-Mexico border.

"In its modern history the U.S. has never suffered an invasion of the homeland and, yet, one is unfolding now," they explained.

They added that the rising number of immigrants entering the U.S. is a clear sign that the country's national security is diminishing.

The two ex-FBI leaders explained why not closing the U.S.-Mexico border could endanger the lives of Americans, as well as negatively impact the entirety of the U.S.:

  • Immigrants entering the U.S. via the border are from hostile nations, such as Russia and China, as well as from terrorist-linked countries.
  • Many of these immigrants are military-aged men, who are usually traveling to the U.S. "alone."
  • These military-aged immigrants could be plotting a soft invasion, allowing them to gain access to a country that can't be invaded by military forces.
  • The Director of the FBI assessed an elevated threat level in the U.S. ever since Hamas terrorists conducted its deadly October 7 attack. Former FBI officials claim the rising threat level could be linked to the influx of immigrants.
