Ukraine-Russia War Ending: Former NATO Commander Shares Prediction

Will it really face the same fate as the Korean war?

How will the Ukraine-Russia war end? This is a hard question to answer as it is hard to conclude if Ukraine troops can prevent Russia's invasions or if Russian soldiers will overwhelm them.

The Ukraine-Russia war is already entering its second year. Although Russia is considered among the most powerful nations-being one of the countries with the best soldiers-Kyiv is still able to prevent it from completely invading its lands.

This is thanks to the military and financial aid provided by the United States and its other Western allies. But, a former NATO commander claims that the war could end badly for Ukraine.

Ex-US Navy Adm. James Stavridis, a former NATO supreme allied commander, said that the Ukraine-Russia war could end just like the Korean War.

"Ultimately, this will end like the Korean War, meaning that Russia will probably still have control of some portion of Ukraine, Crimea, the land bridge to Russia," said the ex-NATO commander via Business Insider.

Stavridis said, during a radio interview, that Ukraine and Russia are becoming more and more exhausted in terms of economic sanctions and military capability as the war continues. He added that this could lead to a negotiation between the two countries once the war is over.

"When I kind of put it all together, John, I think toward the end of this year, probably after the US elections, we've got a moment for potential negotiation," explained the ex-US Navy admiral.

Despite predicting that the Ukraine-Russia war could face the same fate as the Korean war, Stavridis still sees something good happening to Ukraine, specifically an official NATO membership.

According to Visit Ukraine Today, there's a chance that the Ukraine-Russia war could end before 2025. This was specifically shared by Oleh Zhdanov, a former Ukrainian military official.

He said that it is important to consider that over 50 countries are supporting Ukraine against Russia's full-blown invasion; and these nations are led by the US.

Zhdanov added that helping Ukraine win against Russia is a big deal for the US government, especially the Biden Administration.Scould peak in the spring of 2024 as he believes that US President Joe Biden would politically benefit from Ukraine's possible victory.

"Imagine coming in and starting an election campaign by declaring victory over evil in Europe," he explained.
