Young Social Media Influencers Now Post Pro-Biden Videos; PAC Priorities USA Confirms Paying Them

Priorities USA confirmed paying them.

A new report claims that young social media influencers are starting to post pro-Joe Biden videos because of the Priorities USA; the largest Democratic Party super political action committee (PAC). During the US 2020 presidential election, young voters played a huge role in the victory of Joe Biden against his predecessor, Donald Trump.

However, because of the Israel-Hamas war and other issues, many young Americans are going against the US president. But, some young social media content creators suddenly became pro-Biden again as they are seen posting videos to support the American leader.

According to Fox News' latest report, Democrats are allegedly using young social media influencers to spread pro-Joe Biden messages. Many of these content creators are in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, and Wisconsin, which are considered political battlegrounds.

Danielle Butterfield, the executive director of Priorities USA, confirmed that these young online influencers are doing this because they are paid to do so. One of these social media influencers is LaTo Storr, a 42-year-old TikToker who focuses on lifestyle and local restaurant content.

In the fall of 2023, she began posting pro-Biden videos to urge her 16,500 followers to vote. She claims that she supports Joe Biden's presidential campaign because he aligns with her personal values the most.

However, she is posting pro-Biden videos mostly because she's getting paid by Priorities USA. POLITICO reported that Storr already received over $1,000 for several posts on TikTok and Instagram.

Storr is just one of the 150 social media influencers who are enlisted in the first-ever creator program launched by the Democratic PAC.

Priorities USA said that it will spend $1 million to encourage more young social media influencers to post pro-Biden videos and other content.

"As we looked to 2024, we felt like it was important to reach voters where they were spending their time," said Priorities USA Executive Director Danielle Butterfield.

"We're going to have a ton of success in marketing Biden's accomplishments when we can anchor it in terms of impact and real people and putting some personality behind what Biden's accomplishments are doing," she added.

The latest million-dollar investment made by the Democratic PAC clearly shows the importance of young Americans' votes in the upcoming 2024 US election.

It also highlights how much social media has changed when it comes to its role in election campaigns.
