Several people were hit during the celebration at Union Station according to Police. Unfortunately, the state of those injured has yet to be reported at the time of writing. However, Police have taken two armed individuals into custody. Local news station KSHB 41 had reported 10 victims in this incident. The report also highlights that several of the victims were children but it remains unclear whether all of the victims had sustained gunshot wounds or other injuries.

The Injuries

According to spokesperson Keith King, five injured people had been taken from Union Station to University Health Hospital in Kansas City. However, he said there isn't any information regarding the nature or extent of the injuries. Children's Mercy Kansas City has also reported receiving patients from the incident but according to spokesperson Lisa Augustine, they could not provide a number at the time.

Kansas City police had made a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, and it's as follows "Shots were fired west of Union Station near the garage and multiple people were struck. We took two armed people into custody for more investigation." There have been videos circulating on social media that put the chaos on full display with armed and in-uniform officers racing towards the station as bystanders run in the opposite direction.

There were no reports of injuries from any of the team players or government officials. Kansas City Governor Laura Kelly was present when shots were fired but has made no official statement at the time of writing. In addition, the Governor of Missouri, Mike Parson, and his wife were also present when the shots were fired but were reported to be safe and secure following the incident. Parson made a statement on X to thank law enforcement for its response. This is another reported shooting since the incident regarding a shooting at Joel Osteen's church in Houston. This incident is another to add to a site dedicated to listing the number of mass shootings that have occurred this year so far.
