Zynga is bringing the fun of Farmville, Poker and Words With Friends with a revamped version designed for mobile devices.
Zynga, the popular game publisher, is making a rebound by launching a new lineup of mobile games. With the increasing popularity of mobile devices, games remain a significant category for smartphone users. The social networking game developer is taking advantage of the demand to launch a revamped version of its existing PC games for mobile devices.
In a blog post, Tuesday, COO Clive Downie said the popular "Farmville 2: Country Escape," "Zynga Poker" and "Word With Friends" will be entering the mobile phone market.
Farmville 2: Country Escape will be an extension for the web version of the game. This integration will allow gamers to connect and transfer items from PC to mobile or vice versa. Additionally, the mobile version will not require an Internet connection for the game play. The Farmville franchise is among the most popular web-based games. It has attracted 400 million people, Zynga's most popular online game.
Zynga Poker is the most popular poker game with more than 350 million people having played the game at least once since its launch. The game has got a new social layout to help gamers connect with friends easily. The new version of Poker for mobile devices offers speed, personalized experience and a refreshed design. The game will also feature spontaneous controls and brings the feel of a real casino floor with dynamic audio and new layout. Players can also find skill levels of other gamers so finding a suitable table gets easier.
Finally, Zynga is rebuilding the intellectual word game, Words With Friends, to mark a significant milestone. The word game is celebrating its fifth year anniversary this year and uses this as an opportunity to redesign the game with new features. Zynga will also bring a new Dictionary feature, the most requested addition, to improve vocabulary along with definitions and pronunciations. The mobile-game will also have an improved leaderboard, detailed player stats and carry over existing data to the new Words With Friends.
"I hope these games will show you that Zynga is more committed than ever to testing, listening and evolving our games - brand new and enduring - as a result of your feedback. You are the lifeblood of our games, and these three franchises will grow and sustain because of your willingness to share with us what you want out of your entertainment experience," Downie said in an official blog, Tuesday.
All three new games for mobile devices will arrive soon in select markets and then expand to all the countries around the world in the coming months.
