Police arrested a Louisiana pastor Saturday for allegedly raping a mentally disabled girl.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said that pastor David 'Scott' Lemley of New Harmony Baptist Church is accused of raping the 20-year-old girl on multiple occasions. According to the police records, he did so as his wife is confined to bed with a debilitating disease.
The girl told the police that Lemley forcefully had sex with her, reports KATC. However, Lemley denied the accusations. The records stated that he told the authorities the girl was "known for making up stories for no reason."
The girl could not provide the authorities with correct dates of the alleged rapes. She is reported to have a mental capacity of a 7-year-old, medical records show.
Kim Lemley, wife of the pastor, who works with him at the same church defended her husband saying that he did not rape her. "It's false charges," she said. She also added that she knew the victim.
It was also alleged that the girl's father told her to sleep with the pastor. He was arrested last November and is now in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. His name was not disclosed considering the identity of his victim daughter.
At present Lemley is being held on a $75,000 bail in Parish Prison. Police also booked him on a count of theft of a motor vehicle. The complainant accused the pastor of giving away a car that he was supposed to repair. But, his wife said that the matter was resolved with the complainant.
