Teresa and Joe Giudice of the hit Bravo show "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" headed to court in Newark on Tuesday for fraud charges, CBS News reported.
An unidentified source told The Bergen Record that Teresa and Joe are expected to plead guilty to mortgage and bankruptcy fraud charges in a "packaged deal" demanded by prosecutors. According to federal guidelines, Teresa, 41, could face up to two years in prison and Joe, 43, could face a minimum of three years.
Last year, the Giudices were indicted on 41 counts, including loan application fraud to commit mail and wire fraud that took place between 2001 and 2011. Their trial will begin on April 14.
Additionally, The Record said Joe was charged with failing to file tax returns from 2005 to 2009 and will plead guilty to related charges.
Miles Feinstein, an attorney for Joe Giudice, did not confirm or deny to the local newspaper that his client had accepted a plea deal. Additionally, a U.S. Attorney's Office spokeswoman would not comment on the case.
Though the stars of New Jersey's "Real Housewives" have kept mum on the case, fans of the show have been vocal on social media sites like Twitter in their support of the Giudice family.
"Best of luck today in court @Teresa_Giudice. Your Bravo Twitter family stands behind you 100%!" one fan tweeted.
"@Teresa_Giudice you are in my prayers! Have faith in God & this too shall pass! Xoxo," another fan said, who later tweeted a Bible saying.
