FOX's upcoming DC drama "Gotham" has found its young Bruce Wayne and his future love interest Selina Kyle.
TheWrap reports Camren Bicondova will play the young Selina while 13-year-old David Mazouz will play the orphan Bruce. The newcomers join Sara Paxton as Bette Kane, Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney, Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Robin Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot (Penguin) and Zabryna Guevara as Captain Sarah Essenm, according to IMDB.
"Gotham" is a prequel that will follow the story of a young Bruce Wayne and feature how villains like the Joker, Catwoman, the Riddler and the Penguin come to be before Batman was introduced to Gotham, according HitFix.
"We see Detective Gordon, before he's a commissioner, all the characters you know, Bruce Wayne, the Penguin, all of them. It's Gotham teetering on the edge, and we see what makes these characters become who they are, [like] Catwoman. It's an operatic soap that has a slightly larger-than-life quality to it," FOX Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly said during a press conference for the show in January.
Reily confirmed the series will begin with Wayne as a child, and will end when Batman officially suits up. Fox has yet to confirm when production will begin for "Gotham" and when the show will air.
According to Variety, writer Bruno Heller penned the pilot script for the show, which will dive deep in the lives of Commissioner James Gordon and how the villains of Gotham made the city infamous.
"This is all of the classic Batman characters," Reilly told Entertainment Weekly. "It follows the arc of how they all became what they were. I've read the script it's really good."
