President Biden released a social media video ahead of his State of the Union address asking Hollywood actors who have played the role of president for advice.
Biden said, "You may've heard I've got a big speech coming up."
Among the celebrities he spoke with in a video conference were Tony Goldwyn from Scandal, Geena Davis from Commander in Chief, Michael Douglas from The American President, and Bill Pullman from Independence Day.
Morgan Freeman, who played the role of president in Deep Impact joked, "Well sir, in my capacity as president, all I had to deal with was a meteor."
Pullman, who noted the alien invasion in his movie, Independence Day, offered that "We can't be consumed by our petty differences, and we will be united in our common interests."
Goldwyn said, "Tell them that you exist for them. Tell them that they make you a better man."
"From my experience of being commander-in-chief," Douglas said, "I learned that having a loving partner changes everything."
He added, "Don't forget to save a dance for the First Lady in the East Room," in a nod to his scene with Annette Bening in his role as president.
"I do feel I should just point out one thing, it always bears remembering, there's no crying in politics," Davis joked, citing a famous line from her baseball movie A League of Their Own."
Biden responded, "What I hope is my politics doesn't make anyone else cry."
President Biden was set to give his annual address to the nation on Thursday evening. He could have less friendly members of his audience for his speech. His White House press secretary says he is prepared for anything, including hecklers.
