Over 35,000 pounds of Johnsonville turkey kielbasa are being recalled after consumers reported finding pieces of rubber lodged in the links, according to federal officials.
The recall was issued by Wisconsin-based Salm Partners, LLC and announced Thursday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.
It affects 12-oz. vacuum-packed links of Johnsonville Polish kielbasa turkey sausage bearing the best by dates 05/17/24 and 05/18/24, and establishment number "P-32009" on the side of the packaging, the agency said.
The sausages were produced between Oct. 30 and 31, 2023, then shipped to stores nationwide.
The issue came to light after Salm Partners, LLC received complaints from consumers who said they found pieces of rubber in their kielbasa, the government agency said.
The agency did not disclose how many total complaints were received, but said that there were no confirmed reports of related health problems.
The agency urged anyone with potentially affected kielbasa to throw it out or return it to the store where they bought it.
