Seven people, including two children, were reported missing as floodwaters swept France over the weekend.
Swift-moving floodwater swept cars away, including one carrying a family of four with two children aged 4 and 13, Sky News reported.
Their 40-year-old mother was rescued but her husband and the kids remained missing.
Gerald Darmanin, the interior minister described the floods as "extremely violent episodes."
Several vehicles were found but the people inside were missing.
In another incident, two women were missing after being swept off of a bridge.
A power station manager who went to check on the facility has also been missing since Saturday in Saint Martin de Valamas, AFP News reported.
The body of another man who ignored warnings not to use a bridge over a flooded area was found a few hundred yards from his car. A passenger survived and was clinging to a tree for several hours until they were rescued.
