No. 25 Kentucky has struggled down the stretch of a season. The Wildcats (21-8) have lost three of their last six games, including two straight. The team's latest defeat, a 72-62 loss on Saturday to South Carolina, has coach John Calipari taking the blame.
"At the end of the day, I take responsibility. I never put it on the kids. It's on me," Calipari said, via ESPN. "We've got to get these kids more confident. Part of it is you've got to work your way through it. Part of it is when adversity hits, will you come together? It's all stuff we're learning. ...
"We've got two tough games left. Alabama wins big (Saturday) and coming into our place with the attitude that they can beat us and we gotta go to Florida our last game before our tournament. So we got a lot left in front of us and we got some work to do."
Freshman forward Julius Randle continues to impress, leading the team in both scoring and rebounding with 15.5 points and 10.4 boards per game.
Alabama (12-17), meanwhile, continues to struggle through the season. The Crimson Tide has also lost three of their last six games, but they're coming off a 73-57 win on Saturday against Auburn.
Junior guard Levi Randolph scored a team-high 24 points in the outing, including hitting four three-pointers.
