The family of a Missouri college senior have been living "in pure hell' since he vanished from Luke Bryan's Nashville bar on Friday evening, according to a report, adding that he was "having fun" at the bar the night he dissapeared and "wasn't extremely intoxicated."
Riley Ray Strain, 22, was visiting Nashville with other members of his fraternity when he was kicked out of Bryan's Luke's 32 Bridge bar.
The business and finance major told his fraternity brothers that he planned to go back to their hotel - but surveillance footage indicates that he may have gotten lost, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
Strain's friends reported him missing on Saturday, after they couldn't locate him on SnapChat or reach him through phone calls. Strain's fraternity brothers also contacted his family who traveled to Nashville on Saturday.
"[The family is searching] everywhere from the river to all the way up to Broadway," Strain's stepfather Christopher Whiteid told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Strain typically speaks to his mother several times a day and FaceTimed with her the evening that he disappeared.
"He FaceTimed his mother with one of his friends that was with him at the bar," Whiteid told WKRN. "I could hear him. He was having fun. He wasn't extremely intoxicated or anything, he was just out having a good time."
Mizzou officials have been in contact with Strain's family and Nashville law enforcement since the disappearance.
"The safety of our community is our highest priority," said Angela King Taylor, interim vice chancellor for Student Affairs in a statement.
"Our thoughts are with Riley's family as the search continues. We will be offering any support to them that we can, and we encourage anyone who needs help to reach out to our counseling resources."
Strain is 6-foot-5, 160 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing brown boots, jeans and a black-and-white shirt the evening he disappeared.
