Deadly Walmart Shooting in 'Groundhog Day' Town of Punxsutawney Sparked By Fight Between Brothers: Police Say

State Troopers in Pennsylvania say two brothers got into a dispute at a Walmart in Punxsutawney and one of them ended up dead.

It happened Monday afternoon at the Walmart Super Center in Young Twp., Jefferson County.

The argument escalated and one of the brothers shot the other in the chest.

Police say they arrested the second brother. His name and charges were not immediately available.

Punxsutawney is a small town that was made famous by its annual Groundhog Day celebration.

The Pennsylvania State Police called the shooting an "isolated" event.

The name of the victim was also not released.

A Walmart spokesperson released a statement on the shooting.

"The safety of customers and associates is among our top priorities. We will work with law enforcement as they continue their investigation and refer any further questions to the police," the company said in a statement to WJAC-TV.

The Jefferson County District Attorney has the case and has not commented yet on the charges.
