Kentucky Pediatrician Wanted to Use 'Death Spell', Voodoo to Kill Her Ex Husband After Losing Custody Battle: Court Docs

Dr. Stephanie Russell is accused of hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband

A Louisville pediatrician allegedly wanted to put a "death spell" on her ex-husband, new documents in the case reveal.

Dr. Stephanie Russell is accused of hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband.

Her lawyers released the documents last Thursday, WHAS-TV reported.

Russell is accused of trying to pay a hitman $7,000 to kill Rick Crabtree in 2022 but the hitman was actually an FBI agent.

She allegedly wanted the spell on him after he was awarded full custody of their two children.

The documents claimed Russell messaged a woman who had described herself as a spiritual healer on Whatsapp, asking for help to kill the man using supernatural means.

The healer had claimed her spells have an 85% death rate.

Russell's lawyers filed the documents to show her state of mind. They are trying to prove that she was "delusional" and not in a right state of mind.

Her trial is scheduled to start on April 22.
