Nearly $1.5 billion is up for grabs in lottery drawings beginning Saturday evening.
Powerball's Saturday evening drawing has an estimated $600 million at stake, while the top prize in the Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday has an even higher jackpot, estimated at $875 million.
Mega Millions' jackpot grew after no tickets matched the six numbers drawn Friday night - 13, 25, 50, 51, 66, and the Mega Ball 6.
It's the sixth-highest jackpot for Mega Millions. Only five jackpots have exceeded $1 billion in its 22-year history.
The jackpot has been growing since the lottery hasn't had a winner in 28 drawings.
Its biggest jackpot was $1.6 billion on Aug. 8, 2023, with the winning ticket sold in Florida.
Sweetening the pot is Saturday's Powerball drawing of $600 million.
Powerball's jackpot rolled over after nobody matched Wednesday's numbers.
Powerball's largest jackpot was $2.04 billion won on Nov. 7, 2022.
The winner of its second-highest prize, $1.765 billion, on Oct. 11, 2023, was identified Friday as Theodorus Struyck, a 65-year-old grandfather from California.
Struyck represented a group of winners who bought the lucky ticket near his home in Frazier Park, a town of about 3,000.
