Zac Efron won't stop teasing his potential connection to the "Star Wars Episode 7" cast.
During an Oscar 2014 red carpet interview with TV personality Ryan Seacrest, Efron all but denied that he is up for a role in the upcoming "Star Wars" installment.
"Is it true? I don't even know yet... I guess the force is with me tonight," Efron told Seacrest, Metro U.K. reports.
His comments to Seacrest mark the second time the former Disney star has talked about the "Star Wars" production. While promoting his newest film, "That Awkward Moment," the actor admitted he had met with the "Star Wars" production team.
"Yeah, I just went and met with them," Efron told MTV News. "So I don't know. It would be cool. I love them, I love them, but... who knows?"
The "Star Wars" production team has not confirmed any casting news relating to the film, but TheWrap recently reported sources revealed"Girls" actor Adam Driver was in negotiations for an unspecified "villainous" role.
"Warner Bros. had been seeking Driver to star in the Green Hat Films production 'Arms and the Dudes,' but the actor was reluctant to commit knowing that he stood a strong chance for a lead role in 'Star Wars.' Driver was forced to turn down a supporting role in 'Batman vs. Superman' for the same reason," TheWrap reports.
Driver has not confirmed he will be a part of the "Star Wars" cast, and isn't the only actor who has allegedly landed a role. Benedict Cumberbatch and Gary Oldman are reportedly up for roles in "Star Wars Episode 7" as well.
"I believe Cumberbatch and Oldman were pursued for the same role, but I don't know how that will work out with the script changes, but I'm told they are both involved," MarketSaw reports, the blog which first broke the news of the upcoming "Star Wars" films.
"Star Wars Episode 7" is slated to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
