When Blake Lively made jokes about Princess Kate Middleton's photo-shopping skill in her Betty Buzz advertisement before she was diagnosed with cancer, it wasn't intended to be hurtful.
Blake Lively wrote in an Instagram Story on Friday, March 22, "I'm sure no one cares today, but I feel like I have to acknowledge this. I made a silly post around the 'photoshop fails' frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today. I'm sorry. Sending love and well wishes to all, always."
Kate Middleton's Cancer Amid Photo Controversy
On Friday, March 15, Lively shared an Instagram picture of herself that she has since removed to advertise her new brand of mocktails, Betty Buzz. The photo, which was shot on March 15, was thought to be a reference to Kate Middleton's previous issue over picture retouching. After undergoing stomach surgery in January, Kate Middleton's whereabouts remained a secret.
However, on March 10, she finally broke her silence in observance of Mother's Day in the UK. Princess Charlotte, eight, Prince George, ten, and Prince Louis, five, are shown in the portrait with her and Prince William. She stated, "Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months."
However, hours after the image was shared, several international news agencies refused to distribute the photo, claiming that the source had manipulated the image.
Kate Middleton later revealed that she did change the image and apologized for any confusion the family photograph caused. She and her husband, Prince William, have been doing everything they can to process and manage the cancer privately for the sake of them and their children, according to US Magazine.

After the announcement of Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis on Friday, the couple has been making attempts to handle the news quietly for the good of the rest of their family.

Since the Princess of Wales' cancer battle was made public this evening, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has stated that she has "the love and support of the whole country."
Salutations poured in from all around the world, including the White House, where Joe Biden expressed his "deep sadness over the news." She has also received appreciation for her bravery in telling the world about her disease.
