Russia on Sunday launched its third massive missile attack on Ukraine within four days, according to reports.
The barrage came one day after Russian President Vladimir Putin tried to tie Ukraine to a deadly Friday terror attack on a concert hall outside of Moscow. Ukraine has vehemently denied any involvement in the mass shooting, for which the Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility.
The head of Kyiv's military administration said Sunday that Russia used cruise missiles launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers and Kyiv was one of the targets.
Officials said 18 Russian missiles and 25 drones were shot down over the Ukrainian capital. There was only minor damage, according to the BBC.
No deaths or injuries were reported, according to the Associated Press.
Putin on Saturday tried to link Ukraine to the "terrorist" massacre at the Crocus City Hall on Friday, and said those behind the attack will be "justly and inevitably punished." At least 133 people were killed in the assault, according to Russian officials.
The United States has agreed with Ukraine's strong denial of involvement, saying that an ISIS-affiliated group was to blame.
An affiliate of the Islamic State terror group in Afghanistan, ISIS-K, has claimed responsibility, claiming through its news agency that it was attacking "Christians" at the concert.
The Russian missile attacks on Sunday also struck critical infrastructure in Ukraine's western region of Lviv, accoring to Reuters.
"There were two preliminary hits on the same critical infrastructure facility that the occupiers targeted at night," Lviv's regional governor Maksym Kozytskyi wrote on Telegram.
Power reportedly went out in an attack on one energy plant.
Poland said one of Russia's cruise missiles entered Poland's airspace before being redirected toward Ukraine. It was demanding a response from Russia.
