A U.K. man was convicted Wednesday for bestiality after his girlfriend came across a video of him having sex with her dog on his cellphone, the Grimsby Telegraph reported. He received a four-month suspended sentence, is banned from owning an animal for two years and must spend seven years as a registered sex offender.
Wayne Bryson's girlfriend, who was not named, was going through his old phone looking for photographs of their child when she came across a video. The video was of Bryson, from Louth, Lincolnshire, having sexual intercourse with her Staffordshire bull terrier named Rudi.
"The dog was shaking in a back and forwards motion...The clip was about 30 seconds long." prosecutor Paul Woods told the Skegness Magistrates' Court, the Grimsby Telegraph reported.
The girlfriend brought the video to the police and Bryson, 19, was arrested. Bryson admitted to the illicit penetration, which violates the Sexual Offenses Act, during the incident that occurred on Jan. 17.
Bryson told the police he did not know why he had sex with the dog and that it was the first time he did something like it.
"The consequences are extensive and will continue to blight his life," defense attorney Gordon Holt said, according to the Grimsby Telegraph. "His family have disowned him and his girlfriend has ended their relationship."
"It's sick," Zoe Wilson-Hall, Bryson's neighbor, told the Grimsby Telegraph. "That is the best way of putting it. I didn't think anything like that would happen around here. I'm just glad my dog doesn't get out and we are careful with our animals."
