Nashville Girl, 13, Shot and Killed When Mom Accidentally Fires Gun in Purse While Looking for Keys

'My world is just falling apart,' DeAnne Radley said. 'I loved that little girl so much.'

A Nashville girl died in what her mother claims was an accidental shooting when the gun in her purse discharged while she was looking for her keys.

Dearria Radley, 13, was fatally shot at her family's home Saturday night, according to police.

Dearria's mom, DeAnne Radley, told investigators her unholstered .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol was in her bag and accidentally went off as she rummaged through it in search of her keys.

"My world is just falling apart," Radley told WSMV-TV. "I loved that little girl so much."

"I didn't know my gun was loaded in my purse and [it] shot through my bag," she recalled. "Then I saw the blood, and oh God..."

Radley explained, "It's a nightmare... words can never describe the pain that I feel."

"This is something I'm not ready for. Please, my baby... I just want to hold my baby," she said.

Radley continued to mourn her daughter's death on Facebook.

"HUG YOUR BABIES TIGHT BC I LOST MINE, WORDS CANT DESCRIBE THIS PAIN," the grieving mother captioned an array of photos of Dearria. "MY OLDEST MY TWIN MY MY BABY WAS SO BEAUTIFUL,GOD GIVE ME THE STRENGTH I WOULDNT WISH THIS PAIN ON ANYONE MY HEART IS IN A MILLION PIECES. BUG WAKE UP MOMMY NEEDS YOU 13 YEARS BABY 13 YEARS WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH TOGETHER WHO IS GOING TO TELL ME MOMMA ITS GONE BE OKAY AND HUGGING ME AND WIPING MY TEARS AWAY...DEARRIA I NEED YOU I CANT DO THIS BUG I LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH."

No charges have been filed against Radley as the investigation into the shooting continues.

Meantime, a GoFundMe has been organized to help offset Dearria's funeral costs.
