Pandora for Android tablets is finally at par with Android smartphones and iOS devices with the inclusion of an alarm clock and sleep timer.
Pandora is bringing the latest version of its mobile app with significant changes for Android tablet users. The Pandora Android app version 5.2 brings long overdue features to tablet owners, allowing users to listen to their favorite music while falling asleep and waking up. Two new additions, Alarm Clock and Sleep Timer, will work just like its smartphone counterpart. The changes were announced by Mike Grishaver, VP of Product, Pandora, in acompany's blog post, Wednesday.
The changes will be applied to Android tablets, enabling users to access the features under settings on the upper right corner of the app screen. Introduction of the new features will maximize Pandora usage, limiting itself to only when a user is asleep. Sleep Timer allows users to set a countdown time from 15, 30 and 60 minutes and choose the music station to fall asleep to. The music will automatically stop when the countdown expires.
Alarm Clock works just like any other alarm feature found on a smartphone, but with some additional settings. Pandora Alarm feature lets users choose the desired music station to wake up to in addition to the standard settings, the wake up time and snooze times.
"Today I'm happy to share that we released version 5.2 for Android, allowing listeners to fall asleep and wake up to their favorite Pandora music on their Android tablets in addition to their smartphones," Grishaver wrote in a post.
Pandora users can activate both features simultaneously to fall asleep and wake up to the music of your favorite station. The Alarm Clock was first introduced for iOS device users in December last year and both the features were launched for Android smartphone users in January.
The updated Pandora app for Android can be found on Google Play Store.
