Nashville police have identified a man sought in connection with a deadly shooting in a coffee shop during Easter brunch.
Police say they are looking for convicted felon Anton Rucker, 46, in connection with the homicide at Roasted Salemtown.
Rucker has previous aggravated assault convictions in Nashville and was arrested in Murfreesboro on felony drug charges on Halloween, as well as on aggravated assault and gun charges last August, police said.
In Sunday's incident, a gunman opened fire inside the crowded coffee shop, killing one person and sending seven other people to the hospital, according to police.
The man fatally wounded was identified as Allen Beachem, 33.
Germantown Coffee Shop Shooting
The shooting took place at approximately 3 p.m. Police say there was some sort of altercation before the gunman opened fire.
"Detectives are working to determine the motive for this gunman opening fire during Sunday brunch at Roasted on Garfield St.," the Metro Nashville Police said on X, formerly Twitter.
Five gunshot victims were rushed to hospitals with non-critical injuries. One person was taken to the hospital due to a possible graze wound or a minor scratch potentially caused by sharp furniture as they scrambled for safety.
A pregnant woman also experienced a panic attack and sought medical attention as a precautionary measure.
Authorities shared surveillance images of the suspected shooter before identifying who they were looking for.
According to Metro Nashville Police, an altercation took place and quickly escalated to the point where one of the men pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots. They said there was no indication the gunman knew the dead man.
