Fifteen-year-old Savannah Graziano was shot down on September 27, 2022, by law enforcement after running toward them begging for help.
The teen had been abducted by her father, John Graziano, 45 after murdering his estranged wife Tracy Martinez a day prior.
Shocking new footage shows Savannah was cooperating with police instructions as she crawled on her hands and knees along the 15 freeway in Hesperia, California.
A deputy can be heard pleading for other officers to stop firing their guns.
'Stop shooting her! He's in the car! Stop! She's OK! He's in the car! ... Stop!' the deputy implores.
The deputy then takes cover behind a police vehicle before Savannah is shot dead amidst the gunfire.
Law enforcement had previously tried to claim the teen was shot because she was wearing tactical equipment and fired back. The video definitively proves she was unarmed.
Journalists were able to obtain the video under the California Public Records Act.
An amber alert was issued for Savannah following her mother's murder. A civilian came across Graziano and his daughter and quickly alerted authorities.
San Bernadino County located Graziano's truck around 11 a.m., where he then shot at police officers with a semiautomatic weapon before leading them on a high-speed chase for 70 miles, according to Daily Mail.
Graziano abruptly came to a stop on the side of the road where Savannah can be seen getting out of the car as an officer says over the radio:
'The girl's out, the female juvie is out. She's out on the passenger side.'
Gunshots rang out, striking the teen despite carefully following instructions.
Shannon Dicus, San Bernardino County Sheriff, said at the time of the shooting that it looked like Graziano was running toward deputies wearing 'tactical gear' but the aerial footage shows that while Savannah is clearly speeding up, she's still moving in a crouch and her outfit remains unclear.
Officials are alleging that Savannah fired at officers along with her father.
Savannah was pronounced dead at the scene, and Graziano was shot dead shortly after.
'There needs to be better training so that unarmed people aren't killed,' CJ Wyatt, Savannah's uncle, told The Guardian.
Wyatt blames the unfortunate incident on Graziano's 'abusive and manipulative' father, Anthony.
'She was a really sweet girl at her core, and she didn't deserve this.'
The sheriff's department has been widely criticized in recent months as it continues to argue several wrongful arrests and death lawsuits last year.
