Massachusetts Husband 'Ambushed' Wife Coming Back From Jamaica: 'Luggage Still in Driveway'

A suicide note was left behind near the husband's body, which was found inside the home

A Massachusetts man "ambushed" his wife when she returned from a tropical vacation, police say, gunning her down in the driveway before he re-entered the house and took his own life.

Police first responded to a home at 524 Ash St. in Brockton, Massachusetts at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, which is not far from the Brockton Fairgrounds, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office.

District Attorney Tim Cruz said the woman, 56-year-old Sheron Trowers, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the home's driveway. She was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she later died, according to WCVB.

A man, identified as Carlos Brown, 61, was found dead inside the home from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Cruz said. A note was found, but Cruz would not comment on its contents.

Cruz said it appeared Trowers was "ambushed" in the driveway when she returned from a vacation.

"It appears that Ms. Trowers was just arriving home from a trip to Jamaica. Her luggage is still in the driveway and appears she was ambushed," Cruz said.

No specific information was immediately released about ths victims' relationship history, but Cruz said there was a history of domestic violence.
