Radio personality Lee Siegfried, also known as "Crazy Cabbie" on Howard Stern's radio show, died. He was 55.
Fellow DJ Cane Peterson announced Siegfried's death on Facebook Sunday in a since-deleted post, according to Cleveland.com.
Days prior, Peterson said Siegfried was admitted to hospice.
"Hey radio friends and fans of Crazy Cabbie (Lee Siegfried)...I just got a text from his girlfriend. He isn't doing well," Peterson wrote on Facebook. "They took him to the hospital on March 17th, and he just hasn't rebounded. They've made the decision to proceed with hospice. He's awake, but not alert. Lexi says she has not left his side, and he is very much loved. Please let's all pray for a miracle."
A cause of death remains unclear, but in 2021, Siegfried revealed he was confined to a wheelchair after he was diagnosed with autoimmune disorder Guillain-Barre syndrome, and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy – a condition which causes weakness to the arms and legs, NJ.com reported.
Siegfried was perhaps best known for his time on The Howard Stern Show. He previously worked as a disc jockey in New York and Minnesota, according to Radio Ink.
