Video Shows Revenge-Seeking Son Shoot, Pistol-Whip Dad's Accused Killer in Open Court

The son, bent on revenge, emptied the six-shooter as the suspect scrambled across the floor seeking cover

Stunning video captured the moments when a son seeking revenge for the murder of his father rushed the accused killer during his trial in Brazil, firing a pistol at the man and sending the jury and court officials scrambling for safety, according to a report.

The footage of the attack inside the courtroom in São José do Belmonte shows Cristiano Alves Terto, 27, pulling out a 38-caliber pistol and running toward where the suspect, Francisco Cleidvaldo Mariano de Moura, was sitting next to his attorney during his trial last November, CNN Brasil reported.

Terto fires at least two shots at De Moura as he charges the front, then continues to empty the revolver as de Moura bolts across the courtroom, the video released this week shows.

De Moura collapses behind the magistrates' bench and cowers on the floor, but Terto goes around the desk and begins swinging the pistol at him, the video shows.

As two women try to hold him back, Terto continues beating de Maura, striking him twice, the footage shows.

Terto was nabbed by police after fleeing the courtroom and charged with suspicion of attempted murder.

De Moura, accused of killing Terto's father, Francisco Alves in Oct. 2012, was treated at a local hospital and released, The Sun reported.

No new trial date has been assigned.

Terto was taken the next day to jail, where he remains.
