Trump's Golf Course Shaken By NJ Earthquake Aftershock

The Bedminster aftershock was just one of several recorded in the hours following the initial magnitude-4.8 rumble

An aftershock from Friday's magnitude-4.8, East Coast earthquake shook Bedminster, New Jersey, home to former President Donald Trump's Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The magnitude-2.0 aftershock came around 11:20 a.m., nearly an hour after the initial earthquake rocked New Jersey, New York and several other states across the region, the USGS said.

The aftershock was reported near Bedminster, home to the golf course owned and used by Trump as his "Summer White House" during his time as president.

There were no immediate reports of injury or significant damage, both with the aftershock and the earlier earthquake.

The Bedminster aftershock was just one of several recorded in the hours following the initial magnitude-4.8 rumble, according to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

A trio of "much smaller aftershocks hit our region: 1.8 magnitude at 12:31pm, 2.0 magnitude at 1:14pm, and 2.0 magnitude a few minutes ago," she wrote on X around 2:55 p.m.

Such aftershocks "are normal and are not expected to cause further damage," Hochul wrote.

The earthquake — rare for the region and of a level not recorded in over a decade — shook up social media with reactions both shocked and humorous.
