Powerball Jackpot Hits $1.3 Billion Ahead of Saturday Night Drawing; 8th Largest in US Lotto History

Cash payout totals approximately $608.9 million

Hopeful billionaires will once again have their chance Saturday night at a Powerball jackpot that has surged to an estimated $1.3 billion after three months with no winner.

Saturday night marks the 41st consecutive drawing since someone last won Powerball's top prize on New Year's Day.

That ties the record set twice before, in 2022 and 2021.

The jackpot ranks as the eighth largest in U.S. lottery history and has grown substantially due to the slim chances of hitting the jackpot: 1 in 292.2 million.

The $1.3 billion jackpot will go to one winner who opts to be paid through an annuity, with one initial payment and then 29 annual payments.

Winners most often choose a cash payout, which for Saturday night's drawing would be an estimated $608.9 million.

Powerball can be played in 45 states, plus Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
