A series of human body parts have been found in a Milwaukee neighborhood where a missing woman's car was destroyed by fire in the alley behind her house, according to a report Monday.
The string of grisly discoveries took place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and authorities were searching the area for more remains on Monday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said.
A human leg was also found in or near Lake Michigan at Warnimont Park in suburban Cudahy, Wisconsin, on April 2, the Journal Sentinel reported.
It's unclear if the leg and the body parts scattered across midtown Milwaukee came from the same person and authorities haven't said if there's any connection.
But relatives of 19-year-old Sade Carleena Robinson, who was last seen in Milwaukee on April 1, have said they believe her disappearance may be tied to the leg found in Cudahy a day later, according to the Journal Sentinel.
Police have called Robinson "critically missing," which is generally used to describe people who disappear under suspicious circumstances and may be in a life-threatening situation.
The young woman was last seen about two miles east of her home, which is just a block north of where some of the body parts turned up over the past three days.
Around 7:30 a.m. on April 2, a 911 caller reported a car on fire in an alley behind her home and detectives later told Robinson's family the vehicle was hers, according to the Journal Sentinel.
Two days later, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating the leg found in Cudahy, searched a home on the city's south side and took an unidentified person of interest into custody.
That case was also upgraded to a homicide investigation, the Journal Sentinel said.
