Solar eclipse enthusiasts with star power shared their experiences on social media Monday, posting photos of themselves during the heavily hyped celestial spectacle that traversed much of the United States.

Actress Jessica Biel snapped a selfie that showed her wearing colorful eclipse glasses and urged her fans to "get outside now" if they also had eye protection. Mrs. Justin Timberlake posted:
Bravo TV star and radio talk show host Andy Cohen gushed, "Now THAT was cool!!!" after watching the eclipse on a New York City rooftop with his son Ben:
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis held her hands together while gazing up through a large paned window and wrote, "Praying the eclipse can reset the world to one at peace!":
Late night TV comedian Jimmy Kimmel joked about about how "weird" it was that he and sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez couldn't see the eclipse while looking at the sidewalk outside his show's Hollywood studio:
Hotel heiress NIcky Hilton posted a photo of herself and daughters Lily-Grace and Teddy peering looking at the sun while standing in front of a playground and wrote, "A little after school solar eclipse experience":
Ex-"Saturday Night Live" comic Al Franken riffed on his former U.S Senate colleague John Kerry's infamous Iraq War flip-flop during the 2004 presidential campaign:
Sirius XM sports talk show host Chris "Mad Dog" Russo posted of photo himself standing next to a shiny black BMW sedan and joked that the eclipse was a routine event in his hometown of New Canaan, Connecticut.
Actor Misha Collins, best known for his role on the long-running TV series "Supernatural," posted shaky, cellphone video of the eclipse and a selfie that showed him lying on the ground and looking up,
The New York Mets used their "Mr. Met" account to post an image of the sun obscured by the iconic mascot's stylized baseball head.
And pop singer and outgoing "American Idol" judge Katy Perry didn't provide any proof she watched the sun get blocked by the moon but engaged in some relevant wordplay to plug Monday night's episode of the show, writing: "You can't eclipse #idol tonight."
