Multiple people were shot at an Eid al-Fitr celebration in West Philadelphia, on Wednesday.
The Philadelphia Police say it happened just before 2:30 p.m. near 47th St. and Wyalusing Ave. There were hundreds of people attending the event, observing the end of Ramadan - a holy month of fasting and prayer for Muslims.
Gunfire broke out between two groups of people.
A 22-year-old man was hit in the stomach and a 15-year-old boy was hit in the right ring finger.
The 22-year-old man was transported to Presbyterian Hospital by Philadelphia Police and the 15-year-old male was transported to Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia (CHOP) by medics. Both were listed in stable condition.
A third person, a 15-year-old boy who police said was armed with a firearm, was shot once in the left arm and once in the left leg by a Philadelphia Police Officer.
While officers were responding to the scene, a 15-year-old girl was hit by a Philadelphia Police police vehicle. Medics took her to CHOP, where she was listed in stable condition with a fractured leg.
Police say four males and one female were taken into custody in connection to the incident, and five guns were recovered.
The police officer who shot the teen has been placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the Internal Affairs and Officer-Involved Shooting Investigations.
