31-year-old singer Brandon "B" Howard claims he is the late Michael Jackson's long lost son, TMZ reports. Sources told the site that Howard plans to go public with the "ironclad DNA evidence" tomorrow (Mar. 7).
The results will reportedly be revealed on FilmOn.com. Howard's mother is pop singer Mikki Howard and there have been rumors that his father is singer Augie Johnson, although it's never been confirmed.
Sources told TMZ that Howard "somehow acquired DNA from an old orthodontic device worn by Michael... and the test results show a match." It's not clear how or when he was able to get a hold of the orthodontic device.
After the DNA results are revealed, Howard plans on going after Jackson's estate for money. Estate lawyer Howard Weitzman told TMZ that this is the first time the Jackson family has heard of Howard suspecting that the "Dirty Diana" singer is his biological father.
"We've never even heard from him. Any deadline for claiming to be Michael's child has long passed," Weitzman said.
Howard, who has had some success in his career and worked with artists like Chris Brown, Ne-Yo and Trey Songz, does have a relationship with the Jackson family. Joseph Jackson used to manage his mother and according to eurweb.com, he spent the night at Katherine Jackson's house the night before Michael's death.
When news broke that Michael had died, Howard was reportedly in a business meeting with Jermaine Jackson's ex-wife Alejandra. In 2011, he spoke to eurweb.com about people constantly comparing him to Michael and said at first it used to bother him.
"Who hasn't been inspired by Michael and the Jackson brothers," he said. "Most of the time the people out now, even my good friend Ne-Yo, he's come out with sequined jackets and everything. For me, it's more of I'm doing me... I'm just me. I'm Brandon."
