O.J. Simpson, the USC and NFL football standout who was acquitted in the murder of his wife Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldeman, parlayed his success on the gridiron as a spokesman hurdling luggage in an airport for Hertz and also appeared in a number of TV shows and movies.

He began his cinematic career in the 1970s with roles in "The Klansman" in 1974, "The Towering Inferno" in 1974, "The Cassandra Crossing" in 1976, "Roots" with LeVar Burton in 1977, and "Capricorn One" in 1978 after getting bit parts in TV shows, including "Ironside," Dragnet 1968" and "Medical Center" in the 1960s.
