Ice Spice will make her acting debut alongside Denzel Washington in Spike Lee's next film, "High and Low."

The casting of the 24-year-old "Princess Diana" rapper, whose real name is Naija Gaston, was first reported by Deadline Wednesday.

Apple Original Films on Wednesday confirmed "High and Low" has entered production, by posting a photo on social media showing Lee and Washington holding up the number five, marking their fifth collaboration together.

"High and Low" will be Lee's reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa's 1963 thriller of the same name, which itself was based on the novel "King's Ransom" by Ed McBain.

Ice Spice has rocketed to stardom since releasing her viral hit "Munch (Feelin' U)" in 2022 and embarking on a friendship with Taylor Swift. Since then, Spice released the 2023 EP "Like..?" which spawned the hits "Gangsta Boo" and "In Ha Mood."

She was nominated for four Grammys this year: Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, Best Pop/Group Duo for her collaboration with Swift on the "Karma" remix, and Best Song Written For Visual Media for her collaboration with Nicki Minaj on "Barbie World" for the "Barbie" soundtrack.

Earlier this year, Ice Spice confirmed during an appearance on "Today" that her debut album, "Y2K," is coming soon.
