Morgan Geyser, who in the name of the fictional character Slender Man at the age of 12 attempted to kill her classmate, is too dangerous to leave the mental health facility where she was sentenced to 40 years, doctors testified.

Geyser, now 21, was in court this week, petitioning for her early release from the Winnebago Mental Health institute, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for the third time, according to WISN-TV.

On Wednesday, doctors took the stand to express their concerns over freeing her.

"It's my opinion, to a reasonable degree of professional certainty, that she currently presents a significant risk of bodily harm to herself or others if conditionally released," Dr. Deborah Collins said, the outlet reported. "If pressed to estimate the number of months, I would estimate six to twelve months. I know she's not ready now."

Geyser is currently being treated for PTSD and anxiety, the outlet reported, citing court records. She is no longer diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Doctors said they're also worried over Geyser's claims she lied about suffering from delusions after she was convicted because she did not want to go home to her allegedly abusive father.

Collins testified Geyser claimed she was sexually abused when she was younger, according to WITI-TV.

In 2014, the then-middle schooler and her friend, 12-year-old Anissa Weier, lured classmate Payton Leutner, also 12, to the Waukesha, Wisconsin, woods, where Geyser stabbed her 19 times in an effort to serve online horror figure Slender Man, prosecutors said, according to WTMJ-TV. Weier cheered Geyser on.

Leutner survived the near-fatal stabbing, and Weier and Geyser were tried as adults.

Weier pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree intentional homicide and was sentenced to up to 25 years in a mental institution. She was released in 2021, according to ABC News.

Geyser pleaded guilty to a greater charge of first-degree intentional homicide and was ordered to spend four decades at a psychiatric hospital.
