A mother reportedly died while trying to save her baby from from a knife-wielding attacker who killed at least six people in a busy Australian shopping center on Saturday.

The attacker was also killed.

Ash Good, 38, was identified by local news outlets as among the victims in the bloodbath at the Westfield Bondi Junction mall in Sydney.

Good, an osteopath, was pushing her 9-month-old daughter in a carriage when the assailant stabbed the infant and then attacked Good, according to the Telegraph.

One of two brothers told 9 News Australia that Good "came over with the baby and threw it at me, and I was just holding the baby," according to Metro.

"I just helped out, just holding the baby and trying to compress the baby, and same with the mother, trying to compress the blood ... and calling the ambulance and police," he said.

Good, of Sydney, reportedly died shortly after being rushed to a local hospital.

Her daughter, identified by Metro as Harriet, was reportedly undergoing surgery.

The attacker was fatally shot by a police officer, with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese saying the motive for his rampage motive was unclear.

"This was a horrific act of violence, indiscriminately targeting innocent people going about an ordinary Saturday doing their shopping," Albanese said, according to Reuters.

Five of the six people killed were women, according to police, and eight others were wounded, including the baby.
