Talyn Vigil, 17, one of the seven 'Gilbert Goon' teens accused of beating 16-year-old Preston Lord to death at a Halloween party. last year, has been released on $1 million bail.
Vigil is the only one charged with first-degree murder who has been released from jail, although each was offered the same $1 million bail, according to the Daily Mail.
Vigil, who was charged as an adult, is required to wear an ankle monitor.
Vigil previously said he participated in the attack on Preston at the Halloween party in Queen Creek, Arizona, in a Snapchat message posted on social media.
"I hit a kid, and this kid felt hit his head, and then they kicked his head into the ground. Then I got word he died, so idk," it read.
Shortly after, Vigil tried to distance himself from the death by placing blame on another teen now also accused in Lord's murder, Talan Renner.
Vigil wrote in another Snapchat post: ''Yo, I understand everyone is hurting right now and wants to find the kids that did this, but you got the wrong talyn. The real kid's name is Talan Renner. Please stop accusing me. I was there. I tried to help the kid off the street. Thank you."
Prosecutors continue to face challenges handling an extensive amount of data sent to them for the case, including photos, police bodycam footage, audio recordings, social media posts and data extracted from phones.
The accused seven, Talan Renner, 17, Dominic Turner, 20, Taylor Sherman, 19, Jacob Meisner, 17, William Hines, 18, and Treston Billey, 18, will face Maricopa County Superior Court again on May 9.
