Reign Season 1 Spoilers: Mary Chooses Between Bash and Francis; Amy Brenneman Talks The Arrival of Marie de Guise

The day has finally arrived Reign fans - Mary's mother is coming to town. Oh, you guys thought I was going to say the wedding day is here? Well, yes that is also happening today and is quite frankly the biggest part of tonight's episode.

According to TVLine.com, Mary will reveal who she really loves tonight between Bash and Francis.

Now back to Mary's mother.

According to an interview TVLine did with Brenneman, Marie and Mary don't have the ideal mother daughter relationship.

"It was a different parenting moment when parents were less openly affectionate, and also, we haven't been in the same place," Brenneman told TVLine in reference to Marie de Guise and Mary. "There's a real longing. You get a real [sense of that] on Mary's side, like, 'I wish we had more time together.' You feel that on Marie's side, too, but because she's regent to her country, she has to slam that piece shut a little bit. But they've missed each other."

While Marie's relationship with her daughter has, as Brenneman put it to the website, a certain "formality" and "awkwardness" she does have a decent relationship with someone else at French court - Catherine.

Yes, you read that right, Catherine.

"They [clash], but they really like each other, too," Brenneman said of her character and Francis' mother, according to TVLine. "That was something I was so happy to see, because there are so few women in their positions. They're old friends; they're almost sisterly in terms of how they grate on each other. So I think we clash, but we also really are more on the same side than not."

In a separate interview with EOnline, Brenneman explains her character thinks everyone who believes Nostradamus' prophecy, and is making life decisions based on the prophecy, has gone completely nuts.

"It's almost like she sweeps in and she finds them all addicted to opium or something," Brenneman said according to the website. "It's like 'Wake up, what are we doing, what's happening, what's going on?' So she sort of just wakes them all up."

In the producer's preview for tonight's episode, executive producers Brad Silberling and Laurie McCarthy touch on Mary's relationship with her mother. You also get a glimpse into how much power Marie de Guise may have as she utters the very interesting quote, "Mary may be Scotland's queen but, I am its king."

The preview also shows how King Henry has put Mary on the spot. The queen of England is dead, which causes Henry to desire immediate action from the young Queen. He wants her to choose between his sons sooner (much sooner) rather than later. You can watch his charge to Mary below.

Are you ready to meet Mary's mother? Who do you think Mary will choose? "Reign" airs Thursdays at 9/8c on The CW.
