Copenhagen's Old Stock Exchange Building was engulfed in flames on Tuesday.
The inferno happened inside the historic building in the center of the Danish capital, CNN reported.
Copenhagen police told people to avoid the area.
The building dates back to 1625 and is located near Christiansborg Palace, where the offices of the Danish monarchy, the Danish Parliament, and the Danish Supreme Court were located, the BBC reported.
A police spokesperson said that the people inside the building were evacuated when the fire started and that no injuries have been reported.
The spokesperson added that military personnel were also at the scene to assist in firefighting efforts.
Other media outlets reported that the spire of the building collapsed in the duration of the fire.
"This is our Notre-Dame," local craftsman Henrik Grage told Danish TV, comparing it to the tragic fire that gutted the French cathedral of Paris in 2019.
While the Danish Stock Exchange no longer used the building - which the locals call "Boersen" - the Danish Chamber of Commerce uses it as its headquarters, DW reported.
