Legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld claims the "movie business is over" at the same time his directorial debut is set to be released.
He is set to direct 'Unfrosted' a Netflix comedy about the creation of Pop-Tarts. The film takes place in 1963 as Kellogg's and Post, cereal rivals, race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast.
In an interview with GQ, Seinfeld talked about the movie business.
"It was totally new to me," Seinfeld said. "They're so dead serious!"
"Film doesn't occupy the pinnacle in the social, cultural hierarchy that it did for most of our lives," Seinfeld continued.
When asked what replaced films, Seinfeld responded, "Depression? Malaise? I would say confusion. Disorientation replaced the movie business. Everyone I know in show business, every day, is going, 'What's going on? How do you do this? What are we supposed to do now?'"
Seinfeld most recently appeared in Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" finale that poked fun at the "Seinfeld" finale that disappointed many fans of the show.
