The toddler son of an Arizona firefighter died over the weekend after he became airborne in a runaway bounce house.
Loved ones identified the victim as 2-year-old Bodhi – the son of a beloved Phoenix firefighter named Karl, and his wife, Cristy.
On Saturday, the family were at a friend's house in Casa Grande, Arizona – about 50 miles outside of Phoenix, when a strong gust of wind blew the bounce house into a neighboring lot, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office said, according to ABC News.
Bodhi was pronounced dead at the hospital, while another child suffered a broken arm.
The sheriff's office called the incident a "tragic accident," the outlet reported.
At the same time, Bodhi's parents are also expecting the birth of their second child in May, according to a GoFundMe launched to help defray the toddler's funeral costs.
"This devastating loss has left Karl and Cristy grappling with unimaginable grief... as they face the daunting task of preparing for the arrival of their newborn," the fundraiser description read. "As a community, we want to offer our support and alleviate the financial burden that accompanies such tragedies. Your donations will help Karl and Cristy focus on grieving their beloved Bodhi while also preparing for the new chapter in their lives."
