Savannah Kriger, 32, and her child, Kaiden Kriger, of San Antonio, were reported missing March 18, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

A Texas mom told her 3-year-old son to "say bye to daddy" in a chilling video recorded moments before she killed him.

Savannah Kriger, 32, and her child, Kaiden Kriger, of San Antonio, were reported missing March 18, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.

The pair were recovered in a park drainage ditch the next day, dead from an apparent murder-suicide

Nearly two months after the Krigers' bodies were found, investigators have pieced together the final moments leading up to their deaths.

During a press conference Wednesday, Sheriff Javier Salazar laid out a timeline, citing cell phone evidence. He said Savannah left work early the day she was reported missing, and drove to her ex-husband's home that afternoon, where she damaged some of his personal belongings, before going to her own home.

"There were some things at her residence that gave us pause," Salazar said. "There were some wedding dresses that seemed to have been laid out on the bed... and she fired two shots into her wedding portraits that were positioned on the bed."

She then picked Kaiden up from daycare and FaceTimed her ex, during which she told him, "You don't have anything to go home to now. You really don't," she said, according to Salazar. "And, you won't have anything at all, at the end of the day."

Savannah then drove to Tom Slick Park, where she sent her ex her last text message: "Say goodbye to your son."

Following the text, she made several unsuccessful attempts to FaceTime him.

Next, she recorded a 21-second clip of her and Kaiden at a drainage ditch, where she told her son to "'say bye to daddy,' which Kaiden does. Savannah also apologizes to Kaiden for his daddy not being there, and then kisses Kaiden," Salazar explained.

Savannah then used YouTube to look up children's cartoons on her phone.

"It would only be speculation to be able to tell what she was doing looking at cartoons on her phone, while she and her son are in the ditch area where ultimately they were found to be deceased," the following day, said Salazar.

Kaiden was at the center of a custody battle between his parents, according to local news outlet My San Antonio. The morning their bodies were found, Savannah was scheduled to appear at a custody hearing.
