WWII Vet Who Missed His College Graduation To Fight in Vietnam Finally Receives Diploma

Jack Milton also served in the Korean War

A World War II veteran has finally recived his diploma.

Jack Milton was a sophomore at Western Kentucky University when his ROTC class was called to active duty.

Milton fought in Korea and completed his degree at the University of Maryland's global campus in 1966 but missed his graduation due to a deployment to Vietnam shortly before graduation, WJLA-TV reported.

The 100-year-old finally attended a graduation last week and received his diploma.

The guests and the speaker had welcomed him before he received his diploma. He was sitting in a wheelchair and was surrounded by people clapping for him.

Milton shared that his graduation ceremony was the best event he had attended.

"Well, I've had many ceremonies throughout my life, fortunately, to celebrate many occasions, but this has to be the top," Milton told the TV station.

Milton flew planes in the military and became a test pilot. He worked with Chuck Yeager
