Rudy Giuliani's daily talk show on WABC was canceled and he was suspended from all other programs because he refused to stop airing discredited claims about the 2020 presidential election, according to the station's owner.

John Catsimatidis, the Republican billionaire owner of WABC, told the New York Times that the former New York City mayor ignored multiple warnings not to address the topic on his show.

"We're not going to talk about fallacies of the November 2020 election," Catsimatidis said. "We warned him once. We warned him twice. And I get a text from him last night, and I get a text from him this morning that he refuses not to talk about it."

He "left me no option. I suspended him," Catsimatidis said.

Giuliani, who was former President Donald Trump's lawyer during the 2020 campaign, claimed that the election was rife with fraud and led the legal challenges to overturn President Joe Biden's victory.

Giuliani called the decision to shut down his progam and appearances a "clear violation of free speech," and denied he was told of the station's policy.

"Obviously I was never informed on such a policy, and even if there was one, it was violated so often that it couldn't be taken seriously," he wrote Friday night on his X account.

A letter dated Thursday sent by Catsimatidis to Giuliani and obtained by the Associated Press detailed the discussions spelling out that Giuliani was to steer clear of pertaining to the 2020 election.

"These specific topics include, but are not limited to, the legitimacy of the election results, allegations of fraud effectuated by election workers, and your personal lawsuits relating to these allegations," the letter said.

A spokesperson for Giuliani claimed to be unaware of the policy before Thursday.

"WABC's decision comes at a very suspicious time, just months before the 2024 election, and just as John and WABC continue to be pressured by Dominion Voting Systems and the Biden regime's lawyers," he said in his statement.
