The star witness in ex-President Donald Trump's hush money trial will be back on the stand Thursday for more cross-examination by the defense trying to chip away at his credibility.
Michael Cohen, 57, admitted on Tuesday that he lied to Special Counsel Robert Mueller during the start of the cross-examination.
He first described his testimony to Mueller regarding his travels to Prague and deals with the Russians in an effort to interfere in the 2016 election as "untruthful" and "inaccurate," when pressed by Trump defense attorney Todd Blanche.
Later on, he admitted, "I'll say it's a lie.
Cohen pleaded guilty in 2018 to federal charges involving the $130,000 hush money payment to the porn actor Stormy Daniels, who claimed she had sex with Trump.
How Trump handled those payments is the basis of the trial. Trump faces 34 criminal charges.
He has pleaded not guilty and has also denied ever having the affair.
On Wednesday, Trump asked New York's highest court ito get invovled in his gag order tied to the case.
He as been fined $10,000 and threatened with jail for violating a ban on commenting about witnesses and jurors involved in the case.
The appeal came a day after the state's appellate court refused his request to lift it.
